Zvishavane man in court for murder.

A man from Makacha village under Chief Mapanzure in Zvishavane has appeared in court charged with murder after he allegedly struck another man to death with an axe.

The accused, Taurai Chitima (35) was remanded in custody to 18 November when he appeared before Zvishavane Magistrate Charity Tonongera.

It is the State’s case that on October 30, 2021, at Fishu Business centre in Zvishavane, the Chitima and an accomplice Munyaradzi Ncube, struck the now deceased Livy Goboza with an axe several times. The prosecutor did not reveal the reasons for the attack on Goboza. The court heard that Goboza succumbed to the injuries sustained from the assault. Ncube is still at large.
