ZRP arrests 10 000 in drug abuse blitz

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested over 10 000 people for drug trafficking and related offenses since the beginning of this year, in a nationwide blitz targeting illegal narcotics peddlers and users.

The police also dismantled 53 drug bases during the same period, according to Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson.

 “The Zimbabwe Republic Police has so far arrested 10 000 individuals and destroyed 53 drug bases since January 2025,” he said.

He also urged the public to provide information of those that are involved in drug trafficking and related offenses to the police.
