The ZIFA Central Region Division One Soccer League has secured a 3- year sponsorship deal worth US$25 000 from a local company, Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance.
The league had been operating without a sponsor, and the US$25 000 windfall, is a huge boost ahead of the 2023 season.
ZIFA Central Region Acting Vice Chairperson, Dr. Thomas Murambanyika said the sponsorship deal was expected to enhance competitiveness in the league.
“We have signed a sponsorship deal with a Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance Company, the deal is for three years and the total package for the sponsorship is US$25 000.
We are very grateful for this sponsorship that we have just secured and it will go a long way to enhance competitiveness in the region as we endeavor to develop football not only regionally but, in the country, as well,” Murambanyika said.
He said Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance`s deal with the ZIFA Central Region would attract potential sponsors to the league as a confidence booster.
“This sponsorship also grants the branch good governance so that it attracts sponsors who can partner with us in football development and going forward, we have got a number of sponsors who are warming up to sponsor league cup matches.”
He said the league would rebrand to “Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League,” following the sponsorship package.
