Mbizo Cricket Club has enlisted the services of Nigerian players to boost their chances of winning the National Premier League this season. The Kwekwe based cricket team will play against Takashinga 1 in a league opener at Takashinga Cricket Club in Harare.
Club manager, Admire Marodza has expressed optimism as the club has undertook preparatory steps to outsmart other teams in this year’s league.
“We have engaged in the services of three Nigerian nationals in our squad. These three players landed in the country on Friday last week and have had enough time to prepare and familiarize with the conditions ahead of the league matches.
“Let’s see how it goes in Harare as we are dating Takashinga 1. We have a very reasonable and good team this season, considering that Micheal Chinouya ,a former Zimbabwean and International cricketer is part of our attack, hopefully, we’re going to cause a few upsets.” Marodza said.
The Mbizo club is currently comprised of, Abel Chirimuta, Ahsan Aqil Ali, Chiemelie Udekwe, Clifford Takaedza, Darlington Bhonzo, Dazzyford Mapanzure, Delma Dhewa, Hammad Ul Hassan, Hamza Shamas, Isaac Danladi, Isaac Okpe, Jabulisa Tshuma, Kudakwashe Kaitano, Lesley Chomudondo, Manson Chikowero, Micheal Chinouya, Muhammad Anas Aqil, Nyasha Dube, Ronald Masocha, Ryan Masakadza and Sheldon Mugari
