In a ground breaking record since independence, 8 Athletes have qualified for the World Junior Championships which are set to be held in Lima-Peru this year. This development was confirmed by Tendai Tagara, the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe president.
The 8 are, Nhenga Panashe(100m) and (200m), Nyamufarira David (100m) and (200m), Muvimi Brendon (200m), Jaravaza Tapedza (200m), Musariwa Dylan long jump,(7,77m) based in South Africa, Muzokomba Pavashe long jump (7,76m) based in United States of America, Mpofu Alpha (400m) and Caledon Mufaro Ruwende (200m.)
