Armed robbers storm shopping complex in Lalapanzi

Lalapanzi- 3 Armed robbers forced their entry at Downlands Shopping Complex in Lalapanzi on the 15th of June 2024 at around 0130 and stole money and groceries.

Information revealed stated that, the complainants, Pamela Makiwa (23) and Andrew Dube (23) of Downlands Shopping Complex in Lalapanzi (both employed in the shop) at the business centre were asleep in different rooms when three unknown men who were armed with machetes and a rope forcibly gained entry into their rooms.

They flashed Andrew in the eyes with a torch, tied his hands with a rope and covered him with a blanket while demanding cash but found nothing.

Upon entering Pamela Makiwa’s room, the complainant tried to resist but one of the intruders allegedly assaulted her with the flat side of a machete several times on her back and pushed her against the wall threatening to kill her.

Fearing for her life complainant led them to the shop where money was being kept. 

Confirming the development Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko has appealed for information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts.

“We appealing to members of the public who might have knowledge of these culprits” he added.

The suspects took 4 litres cooking oil, 10x50grammes tinned fish, 10kg of mixed chicken portion, 15 castle beer quarts and cash USD$89 and went away. Total value stolen is US$150-00.
