All set for battle of  DJs

1 Mins read

Kwekwe based disc jockeys (DJs) will tomorrow clash in battles of supremacy at Club Le Vue, Business Times can report.

The battle of the DJs is organised by Business Times’ sister radio station, 98.4 Midlands FM in partnership with Kwekwe-based nightclub Club Le Vue.

The highly anticipated clash will be headlined by Kwekwe based prominent wheelspinner  Basil Chikiku aka Dj Bezzy, 98.4 Midlands FM DJs and MCees namely Dj Masty, Dj Vas, Ginger, Legion,  Mcee Jah Soshea, Careless Mcee , among others.

“We are starting with Kwekwe tomorrow at Club Le Vue. It is the battle of Kwekwe DJs, and we also expect DJs sorounding areas to take part,” 98.4 Midlands FM head of programming Kym Sibanda said.

She said the competition was meant to expose and promote the local talent in deejaying.

“We as an organisation see future in the upcoming Djs. But, most of the young talents die a natural death because of lack of exposure.

“It is our duty as a media organisation to create avenues for these DJs.

We see the need to give a chance to those who aren’t mainstream yet and take those talents to greater heights by any means possible,” she said.

Dj Bezzy applauded 98.4 FM for bringing the deejaying talent scouting show to Kwekwe.

“It is very rare that radio stations come up with such brilliant ideas to promote Djs. We are only used to karaoke, dance, poetry among others, but 98.4 Midlands FM have really put something different on the table and we as Kwekwe Djs are grateful.”
