Multimedia communications group, AB Communications (Pvt) Ltd has appointed Vongai Muzenda as managing director with effect from August 1.
Her appointment comes as the group is celebrating 10 years of broadcasting for its flagship radio station, ZiFM Stereo.
Muzenda joins from the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation where she was director for marketing and sales.
She has also held key leadership positions in sales and marketing at Creative Computers, Amtec Motors apart from being the core team at the launch of ZiFM Stereo.
The executive is a passionate, enthusiastic, committed and accomplished marketing professional and business leader by practice.
She has over 26 years of experience in senior management roles in marketing and sales, 10 of these in the media industry with a proven ability to create and develop strong brands, identify unique opportunities to increase revenue and profits.
Muzenda holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration degree from the Midlands State University, a marketing degree with the Institute of Marketing Management in South Africa and a diploma in Mass Communication from the Harare Polytechnic’s Division of Mass Communication.
Nobert Pithius Tshetu has been appointed general manager of TruckAds Media, an AB Communications company specialising in mobile (moving) outdoor advertising, static and electronic billboards, instore and outdoor product activation and experiential marketing. His appointment is with effect from February 2022.
He was previously group head of sales and marketing for AB Communications prior to his promotion.
Tshetu has worked in the media industry in Zimbabwe for many years. His experience includes stints with Alpha Media Holdings, Lion Match and Interpak.
Spencer Manguwa has been appointment chief commercial officer as AB Communications seeks to harness the opportunities emerging from the convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications. Among these opportunities are content generation, fintech and e-commerce.
Manguwa has 15 years of experience in Telecommunications and Financial services, after he served at some of the leading blue chip, multi-national companies in Africa namely Econet Wireless and Standard Bank.
He has held several key positions in Brand Marketing & Business Development for P2P, B2B and B2P, Sales & Business creation, Customer Experience, Mobile Financial Services and Research (working with international partners such as Barkers Ogilvy and Research Bureau International).
He has been at the forefront of some of the major business developments using technologies such as Mobile broadband (data) and Financial Services (EcoCash and One Money).
Manguwa is currently studying towards a Post graduate Diploma in Digital Business with MIT (USA), a perfect fit for the role in an era of digitalisation and business disruptions.
He holds an Honours degree in Applied Mathematics (NUST), A Masters in Business Administration (Nottingham), diploma in Marketing (CIM, UK) and other certifications.
He is the former Vice President of the Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe.
