A four-year-old boy died while 38 other people were injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned along the Mberengwa-Mataga road on Saturday.
The bus, which had 46 passengers, hit a stone and veered off a bridge before landing on its roof, according to the Zimbabwe Republic Police Midlands Spokesperson Insp Emmanuel Mahoko.
“It is alleged, upon reaching the 40-kilometre peg just after Chaza Business centre, the bus hit a stone and the driver lost control. The bus then veered off the road and fell on the side of the bridge and landed on its roof”
Mahoko added that a boy (4) died on the spot and “38 other passengers sustained varying injuries.” He said the police were carrying out further investigations into the incident.
