
A 102-year-old woman in Nigeria has declared her intentions to run for the country`s top seat in 2023, according to a local media report.
Politics Nigeria reports that the presidential aspirant Nonye Josephine Ezeanyaeche has stated that she has good plans for the country should she be voted into office as president.
Ezeanyaeche, who is also called ‘living legend’ or “Mama Africa’ in Nigeria, is the founder of a local group ‘Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria’.
During a recent visit to the Management team of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), she expressed readiness to contest for the position if the younger generations of the country are not ready.
Ezeanyaeche joins the long list of individuals who have so far declared interest to run for the highest office in the country.
Nigeria is set to go to the polls in February 2023 where the President and Vice President will be elected, with incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari being term-limited.
